View Full Version : Can't update listing
Until now, it's been a while since I made any changes to my listing, the Easily Simple Calendar. Now that you have a login system I have been unable to update my listing's information. I've tried all of the email addresses that I would have used to retrieve my password to no avail and have tried emailing support this weekend without a response.
What do I need to do?

I have the exact same problem. I posted my script prior to the new hostscripts system, hence I never had a login. When i tried to create an account using my email, the system refused, saying that my email was already in use. Attempts to have it email me account info to my email never produced an email.
I created an account on this forum and pm'd a mod on this forum requesting help. He said he'd forward this to the appropriate people. Two weeks later, and I've still received no reply. Meanwhile people are still downloading an old version of my script. It's extremely frustrating. Does anyone at Hotscripts care about the authors of the scripts around which this site is built? I'm not asking for much, just the ability to update my script information. Since my script is free, it's the least I would expect.

Same problem here - and it's been more like a month now. Emailed tech support at least 3 times, and nothing. I even asked the system to email me my password, and it doesn't.
To make it worse, I do remember my username and password, but it says that the account has not been validated yet.
Please someone help us!!! Thanks.

Yeah I'm still in Limbo. I pm'd a board mod a month back, and he promised to forward my problem. A month later... still no response.

Hello!
Thanks to Hotscripts for providing the functionality of re-requesting the validation code.
However, the email address it has in its database is dead now. That is, it is trying to send me the validation code to a long-lost address. Can you please help?
Thanks again.

Hello All:
Thanks for the persistence and patience.
We will make this our #1 priority this weekend. As for the broken e-mail issue, I think we can create a way to change an e-mail address with just a user and password :)
Thanks again folks, keep the good feedback coming. We will get this update issue fixed right away.

If you have:
1) had it email you your password by clicking the link when you log in that says "If you have forgotten your password, we can email it to you"
and
2) Re-requested your validation
and still cannot get in, then I would recommend that you create a new account and then follow the link inside the admin section offering you to "CLAIM A LINK" that belongs to you to get all of your links moved over to your new account.
It is also very important for you to understand that you may need to check your spam filters and folders on your computer to see if you are getting mail from us but it is being blocked.
If you still have problems, please click the FEEDBACK link on the hotscripts site and give us all your details-- like email addresses, link ID's, etc. so we can investigate. Ufortunately we can't investigate your posts in this thread as we have no idea what info you are using to try and login.
Thanks/

Thanks! It's really nice to be able to start moving on this one!
I am going to claim 2 links to my new account. One idea I came up with to prove that I won the links: Modify their home pages.
Since the script owner can change the HTML of the home page of each script, that's one good way to authenticate. The modification can be something invisible. For example, a simple HTML comment along the lines of:
<!--Hello Hotscripts! _username_ owns this script! -->
Will do the job. No one can see this comment unless they look at the source, and so that could be the validation step of Hotscripts.
Just a thought :)
