Hi all, i want to run a remoted host service on site like short url, counter, guestbook... What tool do i need ? What do i need to do ?

If I understand you correctly, then for Windows you can use IIS or Apache and for *NIX you can use Apache. Both are free.

I think he wants to offer similar services as Bravenet himself and not use the services.

I guess the first and fore most requirement is you should have scriopts which you can remotely host! ;) Either buy it or code it!

Once it is done, get a server with LOT OF BANDWIDTH and advertise your service, that's it!

heh. Why would you offer such things ? It's pointless, there are hundreds of site that offer free counter, guesbooks, this and that...No need for another one. That's only my opinion of course. But if still want to do it, get yourself some scripts, or create your own. Also make sure you sell enough banners to cover your bandwith expenses because believe me, you'll need a shitload of fast bandwith !

Well if his will be better then the current ones out there, then his will become famous many people will want to use it, and it won't be pointless anymore would it?

Hosting Remote Scripting isn't going to make you famous so fast. It requires intense advertising and more. People now are more comfortable in having controling their own scripts as more server has PHP installed. Those remotely hosted script like counter are ususally meant for free hosting with PHP like Geocities.

oh, i'm currently running a webmaster community, now i want to open some remoted host script for my member. Of course i have a lot bandwidth and there are about 10 thousands member on my site.
I ask if someone has some experiences with this then he can link me.
