We are developing a web frontend to a product, and rails would make sense, but is it a good, longterm choice?

A lot of technologies fade after a while. The current choice is JSP which is pretty cumbersome..

We do need a middle layer and will be calling oracle etc on the backend.

I thinks Ruby wont frazzle as easily. Have heard it is easier than Typo3
