Ryan any ideas when the new moderators are picked ?
Thanks,
Just to let everyone know, I have opened another position for the PHP/MySQL forums.
Chris, there is no time frame for when they are picked. There are several factors that are going into who I pick for the Community Leader positions.

Ryan, since the PHP section is filled, why don't you give the leader position to the poeple you've chosen so they can start working ?! and as for other sections once they are filled assign the new moderators ..

Right! I noticed that many forum sections are filled up; with spam, cross-posts etc.
Btw, I emailed you my application...
As I said in a post on the second page of this thread, I hae opened another PHP and MySQL Community Leader position. As for the other forums, I have not received many applications for them. I have received some and I'm reviewing them. Keep in mind there is more that goes into picking a Community Leader than just an application. ;)

And remember it dosn't require much. Any good person with vB forum knowledge is appliciable.

I'm not sure how you figure that. vB forum knowledge actually plays very little into the decision of who becomes a Community Leader. ;)

vB isn't the easiest forum to use in the world.
half its customers use it because it was the first board out for php/mysql..
wBB2.1 is way better..

While I may disagree with you on that issue it is irrelevant nonetheless. The choosing of Community Leaders has nothing to do with whether or not they are able to run a forum. Their function is to help out in the community and enforce the rules.

Yeps... Guess a good community management skills comes into play here rather than technical issues about vBulletin.

I feel positions remain open till Ryan formally announces !!
My apologies NeverMind, I have received your application. Positions for all forums remain open until you see a side note next to the forum name that state that the positions for that section have been filled.
Ryan, got my application for general advertisement forum?
Would you inform us through e-mail, which members are selected?
Yes I received your application. If I select a member to become a Community Leader they will be contacted via email.

no, they aren't paid..
This is not a paid position.
the advantage is that you will be a community liaison of a forum which is a part of iNet ;)

But I donīt understand...
Iīm sure the owner of places like this, sitepoint, webhostingtalk... earn a lot of money with the publicity.
Then, why canīt they share a bit of that money with their mods?
I think these places are great thanks to the mods job.
The Community Leader positions are not paid positions nor do I see them becoming paid positions anytime soon. The Community Leaders are not "scheduled" to be on the boards at any particular time and they are doing this because they want to be a part of the community and help out.
