anyways, i was wondering how to make your webhost into an irc server, if it's possible. i'm currently using dreamhost's (http://www.dreamhost.com) crazy domain insane package.

With a shared server(which I belive you have) I don't think you'll be able to set up IRC on your server. However, I'd contact your host before you do anything. :)

I'm quite familiar with DreamHost, and they do monitor CPU usuage and scripts installations closely - so I'd also recommend you contact them before setting up an IRC server.
