Would anyone out there have the compassion to tell me if this is possible and recommend a script? I've got to warn you though, this question might be really basic and stupid:
I want to create a website where each user who registers will get their own personal web page where they can log in and upload text into 3 or 4 pre-existing fields (possibly small-sized pictures too). It would be important that each users' page URL is short and simple - i.e. www.website.
com/username (where 'website' is the name of my site & 'username' is the name the user chooses).
I assume it can be accomplished with PERL. What I'm not sure about is if it's possible for each users' page URL to be short and simple while still retaining interactivity. Users will be posting their page's URL on various other affiliated websites which place restrictions on how many characters can be entered into their text fields, that's why 'short & simple' is important.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, this is all very possible in Perl. What did you require help with? How to do something, what to do next, or were you just looking for an already existing script?

An already existing script would be great! Or if anyone out there knows a programmer that would work with me - for $ of course - it would be even better, since I'd like to get up and running right away. I've written to 5 programmers already asking for quotes and they've all ignored me. I figured I sounded like a nut job. Thanks alot.

I'd assume there would be existing scripts out there and if not complete to what you want, could easily be modified. Otherwise it shouldn't be an issue to create one. If you like, email me and outline exactly what you're looking to do, in what ways, what you want to allow, how you want to restrict it and overall allow for the interaction. Let me know your budget and what you're wanting or limited to spend and I'll let you know if it would be worth it to me and let you know how far I'd be willing to go to help you create a complete solution with any of the small or major features you want.
