Hello Guys!!!

I'm really a HotScripts zealot, however the new site look is burning my eyes and I'm not getting stay for long time in this site.

Might what's causing this is the excessive usage of the extremely strong red color combined with light gray. :cool:

Is somenone also having this same symptoms??!?!

I've had no trouble with the new site design so far. the colors are fine to me. The combination of the red and the light gray are no problem to my eyes.

I think a blue design would contrast well with the red pepper and be a little more kind to eyeballs

This is ok with my eyes, but I the blue and red would really screw with my eyes. Then again, everyone is different with what they are comfortable seeing. I think it is about time HS gets a color scheme that matches the site name. ;)

Eh. It's a bit bright, and does cause some fatigue, especially when you're looking consistently over hours (or so I've noticed). But it ain't that bad (no headache yet!).

I'd love darker red with less contrast, but that's just personal.

I like it, though after being around here for a couple days, I can see what you mean.

The red seems distracting to my eyes, its like i have a narrow vision when I come here...

colors dont bugger me any

I don't have those symptons...and Red is the color of Hotscripts....

I agree the red is the color of Hotscript, but I've noticed when reading threads the top nav and bottom of each post make my eyes wonder.

I think it would be good, just not to use so much of it.
Like the darker red could be removed in the menu bars.

Though the first colour you see when you come to this site is red , it is not as bad as you though.

I will say that I use to 'surf' this site a lot (before the forums).... and now I do that even less. (sorry guys)


There is simply too much bright red. Some of us do keep our brightness turned up on our moniters.

The redness of the primary site is just too much, IMVHO. My time spent at this site has decreased by (probably) 85% since the redesign.

Hate to say that.... this is one of the first 5 sites I visit every day. ... and it use to be a site I visited a few times a day. Just don't do that anymore. Too much red.

I have to agree with John. I've already said it before so I won't drown you with my boring old "red" story... I just didn't want John to feel alone on this issue. I tend to come to the forums more often than I do the main site anymore, although the forum is very red... the interaction is fun, besides I've been visiting HS for sooo long, that it's kinda hard to let go "cold turkey" :D I'm sure things will work out for the best as time goes on. I'm not too worried, you guys are working on making things better or bigger, and that is still definately much appreciated!

If you ask me, it makes the site look alot more attractive and unique. You don't see many other websites with the use of red. :)

i love the new look :D i have my brights up all the way and it doesnt bother me. but i do think a darker gray would work. im on my site alot and i have very dark colors(black,gray,white) so comming here might upset my eyes but i do love the look. love the forum btw, gr8 to see us programmers and beginners can finally chat here :)
