I have a question -- if I want to give my users their own member area or homepage on http://www.haitisurf.com my website---
A spot where they can upload their own pictures and have a little guestbook etc. What is the best best tool I can use to do that?
And where can I download that?
Any tool out there where I can give the members their own homepage. like http://www.my_website/members/joeb_low
In this spot, joe_blow, the member can upload his pictures and have his own guestbook and profile etc.
Can any body help if they know about such tool?
Thanks, in advance !

Hmm, the best way to solve this problem is .htaccess. It popups little window with user name and pswrd fields, and after user logs in, he has full access to everything. And that 'everything' is easy to set up. It depends on what you like members to do.
Check out your server settings, there should be some security task which would help you to setup your .htaccess. Of course there's other way - php login. But as for me I find it too messed up to use.
Moving to appropriate place! :)

Companies like www.communityarchitect.com can do this for you as a branded solution for free or without branding for a samll fee.
I think such a solution would be best since people generally abuse free home pages and your ISP charges can go through the roof in no time.

I kind of like that option
I am writing these people and I think that will help me a lot where I will not have to use my precious space. I like this option I think, let see how it works out.
Thank you,
I haven’t signed up with them yet but plan to soon, so I'd appreciate it if you could give us your impression on their service if you decide to use them and I’ll do the same if I sign up first.
Thanks

Also check out Profile Manager Premium:
http://www.interlogy.com/products/pmpre/
It is very flexible. You can let your members upload their pictures and give them their own URLs such as www.haitisurf.com/profiles/jesifa.
You will get more freedom what you can do, and how the pages will be designed and function, since you will be hosting it on your server, and since PM Premium is very open to customization.
I am the author of the script so let me know if you have any questions. :)
