I use Ariesoft Winsyntax. Fast, simple (not bloated), and easy to use. and it has a great price... But then again, I was used to using notepad. :(

I still have not found any as good at php coding as PHP Edit. if anyone wants to complain, do so by giving me a link you your editors web site :D
Here's one I haven't heard mentioned, jEdit
I love it's feature set... code folding, plugin architecture, etc.
http://www.jedit.org
I used to use EditPlus and BBEdit depending on which platform I was on at the time, but jEdit is Java and it works well on both platforms; and I was a java bigot.

One of my favorites for the multi highlight support, etc.

I use EditPadLite...

I currently use EditPlus (http://www.editplus.com) for my PHP coding. I also use Dreamweaver for the visual layouts (which I'm not very good at ;)).
Yeah, I just switched back to faithful ol' EditPlus. The only thing I want in my editor is the syntax highlighting, and thats what it has :)

I think he is saying that Dreamwaver is not good...which i say is not good...unless he likes frontpage... lol
I use UltraEdit.
I showed this prog to a few people and none of them have used anything else since.
http://www.ultraedit.com
It has everything you could possibly want in a text editor including working with files directly on a remote server via FTP!
Feature list here:
http://www.ultraedit.com/products/features.html
The only thing that sucks is the color scheme when you first start it up - but you have full controll of that (as well as just about everything else it does).
Cheers,
Justin :)

Well, no I use my own editor, using a wysiwyg doesnt help your coding skills.

Dreamweaver MX is my favorite as a PHP IDE and as an all-around environment for a web developer - actually, a group of developers at that. Best multi-developer support I have ever seen.
If you can afford the price tag, there is nothing better. The way I got around the heafty price for my Macromedia Studio (which includes DW) was to do a quick job for a non-profit group that had a few licences which they used to pay instead of money (pretty common).

If a WYSIWYG editor screws up your coding skills, I would question that you had any to begin with :) There is no point and click for PHP, except of course the handy snippet library you can build with all the millions of little snippets you find your self using in every application.
