View Full Version : Allow offsite avatars
I'm not sure whether vB allows offsite avatars or not, but I'm sure it'd be easy to code. I'd like to be able to use an avatar on my site without having to upload it. I wrote a script that randomly selects an avatar and then displays it, using vB it just takes the image that was shown and uploads that, making it non-random, I don't want that.

vB doesnt allow off-site avatars, you can specify the avatar's URL and it will be uploaded. The reason why vB doesnt have this option, is that it cant check if the avatars are in the right size & width/height. Otherwise you could set a 30MB 100000000x9999999 pic for your avatar :D

Yes, but no one is really that stupid to do that. I understand you can specify a URL and it'll upload it, but that doesn't make random avatars possibe, that's my entire point.
