I have been running a site since last Feb.

The Site started life as a forum, but has since grown to be a community with things such as a Downloads page section a Tutorials Database page, and a portal that we feed the latest news on.

if you visit this site I would appriciate any positive feedback from you. As we need to increase our member database. The Site Address is: http://www.pcadventurers.net

The footer caption image is off on the bottom along with the text. The site overall is alright. I'm not a big fan of the news portal/phpnuke look, but that's just me. I think the header image could be more vibrant. I'm assuming that you didn't(?) do this http://pcadventurers.net/iboard/html/my_avs/RAM.png image and the one below it as it seems a lil more colorful and crafty - and i think that if you had your image as "professional" as that then it would really tie the piece together. I didn't even notice the navigation above the header image. I'd suggest picking a main point for your navigation or atleast making the text nav above the header bigger. I think maybe you should use a 'windows' logo in the forum instead of the lil grid patterns.

keep it up,
nick

Hi Nick, thanks for the feedback ! :)

Yes I agree with some of the things you pointed out and think I will make some adjustments to the site's default skin. As my site has a choice of 6 skins to use there are different aspects of each that you could probably scrutinise :D

I made a point however on the navigation menu of making BOLD the area's that I'd like to draw people to. with the rest of the links being ordinary text links.

The copyright section on the footer really needs to be sorted, it throws the table out on the skin thats being used.

Oh yes the picture you were referring to (with the RAM Chip) is a news Avatar, I hadn't noticed the difference in colours between them  well it can be fixed in Photoshop I guess :)

But I will get these things sorted out :)

Thanks

Umm yes sure ! The portal being used however is called IPDynamic lite, hence the PHP Nuke type look I guess. What ways do you think I could spread things out a bit ?

Thanks

C.

Sorry for the lateness in my reply !

K, I think I figure out why the portal looks cramped for you but it could be down to the screen resolution of your monitor ? I use 1280 x 1024 I have seen the portal on a monitor running @ 1024 x 768 from that resolution up it seems to get better.

It does look at bit cramped at 1024 or less though.

The other possibility is that the boarder width needs to be increased more, this might get the portal a little less cramped looking !

Thanks for your tips and suggestions :)

Regards

Cat.
