I would like to know what the criteria is for deciding whether or not a review is posted, and how long it takes for reviews to appear?

I reviewed a particular product some time ago, quite negatively, but I believe fairly, because it was a poorly written, very poorly supported and not inexpensive one. I felt that given that it had a 5 star review rating (based on one rave review) that a little balance (some might say reality) would be a good thing.

Currently this looks from the blurb and the glowing review like a the answer to someone's prayers, whereas in fact buying it is the first step into your worst nightmare. Well, maybe not that bad, but it is a complete waste of more than $100

However no sign of the review appearing.

Incidently (at least I am assuming, hoping, it is incidental) this particular product has a sponsored listing.

Reviews are generally added or denied within 24 hours of submission.

A complete listing of review guidelines is available here:

Generally you will get an e-mail if your review is denied.

As for your "incidently" comment, when we are evaluating reviews, we do not even know the script's title ... just the link id ... and we certainly don't remember what all link ids are sponsorships. We would never compromise our integrity by doing something like that. We have had sponsors ask for it... but we don't comply. That would be unfair. I think you could find a lot of sponsored listings that have some negative reviews.

Hope that helps.

As for your "incidently" comment,

I am sorry - I should not have said that and I apologise unreservedly.

As far as I am aware I received no notifications about the review one way or the other. I don't really want to submit another in its place if it is just increasing an existing backlog. But I do want to submit this review.

Should I do it again?

Certainly... there is no backlog.
